We tried to tell the kiddos how huge this place is...but they couldn't quite get their mind around it all until they saw it!! Even then...it BLEW THEIR MINDS :-). What an amazing, beautiful, grand, way-before-it's-time home this was!! Sorry, no pictures allowed on the inside...so I guess you will just have to go see it with your own eyes. Even pictures couldn't do it justice!! This home of George Vanderbilt was completed in 1895...six stories, 250 rooms, 43 bathrooms, 4 acres of square feet in the home and 8,000 acres of land!! It is the largest home in America....equipped with an indoor swimming pool, bowling alley and full Skinner pipe organ (with it's own air compressor in a room in the basement) as well!! This really is a MUST SEE!! We spent 3 hours in the house itself and a couple hours on the grounds...complete with ice cream from the Biltmore cows :-). What a great day!! Blessings to all our our friends and family...we sure are missing you bunches!!
