Elvis!! Part One

There is sooooo much to see at Graceland, Elvis's estate, so I will have to share it in several different blogs. This first one will focus on his house...one 13 acres, right in the heart of Memphis, TN. Touring Graceland was a wonderful way to spend our anniversary :-)

View of the front of the home.

The front entry room. In the distance, the piano where he spent many hours playing and singing!!

His parent's room...they lived with him for his entire life. This was the only bedroom downstairs.

The stairs leading up to his room...off limits to the public!!

The dining room. Most furniture are the original pieces that the family used. They ate most of their meals here surrounded with family, friends and band members.

The kitchen...much more simple than I expected!

The TV/bar/entertainment room down in the basement. He liked watching all three news stations at once.

His "man-cave". Walls, ceiling and couch covered in the same fabric...350 yards worth!!

A later addition to the house...his "Jungle Room"...done in the 70's...green shag carpet on the floor, ceilings and walls!! Indoor wall fountain...unheard of in those days!

His backyard. He and his family loved and owned several horses.
