Well, day one of Yellowstone is under our belt and I got to fulfill a life long dream of mine...seeing the Old Faithful geyser spray. It was everything I had hoped it would be!! We sat and waited with the hundreds of other spectators and at precisely 4:04pm (Luke was watching his stop watch!), Old Faithful began to blow. According to the master-timer, Luke, it sprayed for almost exactly 5 minutes. The next show would commence approximately 92 minutes later, so most of the crowd, us included, headed on to other things. We were also blessed to see lots of wildlife on our very first day...lots of cow elk, several Canadian geese, some sort of crane, a large herd of bison and even a bald eagle as we were leaving the park. We actually took time to sit under a tree and watch the herd of bison eat, drink and roll in the dirt. I have to say that they are HUGE and a bit intimidating!! Tomorrow I think we might venture to the northern part of the national park to see the Mammoth Hot Springs area. The pictures of this area look amazing so I'm really looking forward to it. Maybe we could even work in some more fishing? Well, it's time to put this wonderful day to rest. I hope you all have had a good weekend and are looking forward to celebrating our freedom and the wonderful nation that we live in. We sure are missing our family and friends and holidays are kinda tough but we will do our best to blend in with the hundreds of travelers who have arrived in West Yellowstone for the Fourth of July. Blessings and sweet dreams, Lioness
