Dad's Float trip with the kids down the Jefferson River!

Have you ever had the chance to do an old fashion float trip? You know...the kind where you air up the inner tubes, throw on some swim trunks, flip flops, sunglasses and forget the sunscreen, because you don't have time for it because you are so excited about getting into the water. It's been awhile since I had that old feeling but what a joy it was to experience it with my children. The Jefferson river is the same river that Lewis & Clark navigated with Sacagawea. There is a stretch of it in Montana that has some slow moving water that is perfect for a float trip. The high canyon walls and the river itself are quite picturesque! We floated for about 90 minutes and other than frozen buttocks, we had the time of our life! If you ever get the chance to visit Lewis and Clark caverns state park in Montana, you should, it's the best cavern we have ever been in and we have visited quite a few. Besides, if you don't like caves, the Jefferson river flows right outside the gates of the state park and then you too can have an old fashioned float trip! Lion
