Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Yesterday might have been my favorite day so far!! We drove through Yellowstone on our way to Jackson Hole, Wyoming where we spent the entire day. Our travel was uneventful with the exception of a traffic jam due to a buffalo herd traveling along the road we were on, so we learned the challenges of being a rancher and "herding" 30 or so buffalo down the main highway of Yellowstone. It was really a cool experience!! Once we made it through Yellowstone, it was on to the Grand Teton Natioanl Park of Wyoming...this was spectacular!! All six of us agree that we like the Grand Tetons even better than Yellowstone. These majestic mountains took our breath away!! We didn't see any wildlife in the Teton Park, but the grandeur of the mountain ranges certainly made up for it!! We even took a tram ride up to the peak of one of the Teton Mountains which was above 10,000 feet and we had our picnic lunch up at the "top of the world". We could see in all directions for hundreds of miles and it was absolutely beautiful!! After lunch, we went into the tourist town of Jackson and killed a few hours before our evening show. We went to the Bar J Cchuckwagon meal and performance and it was a total blast!! The food overflowed off of our plates and it was "finger-lickin-good" bar-b-que!! But the best part of the day was the show...what an AMAZINGLY TALENTED group of men we were blessed to see last night. The banjo player and the fiddler went sooooo fast that we could hardly keep rhythm clapping with them. They had the best yodeler I have EVER heard and their harmony would just make you cry. They sang/played for about an hour and a half, straight, and we didn't want it to end!! They could have gone on for twice that long and everyone would have stayed, attention still captivated!! I know I keep saying this, but I REALLY mean it this time...if you ever find yourself in Jackson, Wyoming, you MUST go and experience the Bar J Chuckwagon. It will be one of the most enjoyable evenings you have had in a long time :-)). We had a two hour ride home after the concert and got in about midnight so we all slept in this morning and had a late breakfast of French toast...yummy! The rest of this day (Saturday) has been spent preparing to leave Yellowstone...laundry, cleaning out the frig, vacuuming and sweeping floors, and overall cleaning up the piles that have accumulated. We are actually ready to move on and begin our journey toward Rapid City, South Dakota and Mount Rushmore. We will be staying there about a week. We hope you all are well and have had a special 4th of July holiday. Blessings, Lioness and the pride!
